Our domain availability checker gives you two ways to check domains: QuickCheck and registrar API checks.

QuickCheck does not require API credentials

QuickCheck allows you to check domain availability without entering an API key, registrar username, password, or other account credentials.

This is the simplest way to check domains when you do not want to provide registrar API credentials.

Checking through a registrar API

You can also select a supported registrar and use its API credentials to perform the availability check directly through that registrar.

Using a registrar API can be useful if you want the availability result to come directly from the registrar you intend to use for registration.

Your API credentials are not stored

If you use a registrar API, the credentials you enter are used only to perform the availability check requested by you.

The application does not intentionally store your API credentials in a database, cookie, or user account after the request has been completed.

We do not need your registrar password

The checker does not ask for your registrar account password. When using a registrar API, you only provide the API credentials required by the selected registrar.

Use the minimum required permissions

If your registrar allows you to create an API key with limited permissions, we recommend using a key with only the permissions necessary for domain availability checking.

HTTPS

API credentials should always be transmitted through an HTTPS connection. Do not use the checker if your browser does not show a secure HTTPS connection.

Important security information

The security of an API credential also depends on the permissions granted by your registrar. Before using an API credential, review its permissions and use a restricted credential whenever possible.

If you no longer want an API credential to be active, you can revoke or replace it through your registrar.

Privacy

This checker is designed to process only the information necessary to perform the domain availability check you request.

You do not need to create an account or provide your registrar password to use QuickCheck.
